St. Louis Symphony Orchestra

Litton kept his sprawling forces (St. Louis Symphony / Berlioz's Requiem) together nicely - no small trick when they're so spread out. There was a real urgency to the words "Kyrie eleison", and the balances were generally excellent throughout the evening. The orchestra gave it their all, in the quiet passages as well as the noisy ones, and with few issues in their playing, whether as soloists, sections or overall.
